Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 35 near Ames, Iowa, and near the U.S. 30 interchange are closed due to flooding.
The Iowa Department of Transportation is also making preparations to close I-80 between Mitchellville and Colfax on Thursday, if the situation warrants and river levels rise as forecast.
Both lanes of U.S. 30 are also closed near Ames from I-35 to U.S. 69. Flooding is also occurring in many portions of Ames and the Story County area. Major traffic delays are developing.
