Infiniti announced official EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) fuel economy figures of 32 mpg highway, 27 mpg city for its first production hybrid performance luxury sedan, the all-new 2012 Infiniti M35h. (Earlier post.)  It goes on sale at Infiniti retailers nationwide in spring 2011.

The Infiniti M Hybrid mates a 350 hp V6 with a 50 kW electric motor; combined system output is 360 hp. Combined cycle fuel economy is 29 mpg.  

The Infiniti M35h features the all-new Infiniti Direct Response Hybrid system, an advanced one-motor, two-clutch parallel hybrid design that utilizes precise, high-speed motor control technology enabled by the Lithium-ion battery, allowing power to be delivered directly to the vehicle’s 7-speed automatic transmission.
