The best deals on hybrid cars in March

Back in 2008 rising gas prices eventually created considerable demand for hybrid cars, far more demand than supply. Those conditions resulted in many dealership add-ons. The Toyota Prius, for instance, often included dealer markups as high as $5000 atop MSRP, in addition to other expensive add-ons like leather and other high cost amenities.

So far, however, gas prices haven’t yet had such an effect on hybrid sales. In fact, a number of hybrid deals are available in March.

According to US News & World Report, both Honda and Toyota are still offering a number of deals on their respective hybrid offerings in March.

For example, both the Civic hybrid and Insight hybrid can be purchased at 0.9 percent financing rates, and both hybrids also qualify for some special lease offers. A lease on the Insight hybrid requires $0 down, $0 for the first month and then a payment of $230 per month for 35 months, while the Civic hybrid qualifies for $0 down and a payment of $260 per month for 35 months.

Likewise, the Toyota Prius qualifies for up to $500 cash back or 1.9 percent financing, while the Camry hybrid qualifies for up to $1500 cash back and/or 0.0 percent financing. The Highlander hybrid also offers 0.9 percent financing.

Of course, all offers are dependent upon credit scores. Moreover, Toyota’s hybrid deals are strictly based on geographic location and not all offers are available in all areas.
