A truck driver from California was killed last week after state police say a pair of unusual events combined to create an “unfortunate set of circumstances.” Lino Domingo Lopez-Hernandez, 48, of Bakersfield, CA, had pulled over and stopped on the I-84 shoulder near Rufus, OR, on Thursday, March 3, to look for an axle and two tires that had fallen off.
