In New York, the state DOT launched an inspection blitz on commercial buses late last week, and at one checkpoint in New York City all 14 of the buses inspected were placed out of service. Gov. Andrew Cuomo called for the clampdown a week after 15 people were killed in a tour bus crash on Interstate 95 in the Bronx.
