The 2011 Capitol Christmas tree has caught two Bay Area companies and some humble truck drivers in its glow as it is hauled from Sonora to Washington, D.C. The 63-foot tall Sierra white fir’s caravan, which includes two other trucks hauling ornaments, smaller trees and food donations, took eight days to tour California before heading east.
