A Romanian truck driver involved in a 35-car highway pileup in northern Greece that killed five motorists and injured dozens has been remanded in prison pending trial for multiple manslaughter. The 39-year-old man told judicial authorities his brakes failed shortly before the heavy vehicle, loaded with 19 tons of grapes, smashed into cars stopped at road works near the northern town of Veria on Sunday.
