Two Los Angeles and Long Beach port truck drivers filed a class action lawsuit a Carson trucking company Wednesday, claiming the firm violated state labor code and failed to pay them due wages by designated them as independent contractors instead of employees. Truckers Jose Vasquez of Lynwood and Elmer Montoya of Bellflower each filed a class action lawsuit against their former employer, Sterling Express Services, Inc., a private freight trucking firm in Carson.
