When commercial truck driver Jose Francisco Garcia-Coronado drove up to an Interstate 19 U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint north of Nogales, Arizona in 2013 he was accompanied by his small dog and bags of dried beans he picked up from a Santa Cruz County distributor. Coronado also had a GPS unit, a password-protected iPhone, two other cell phones and a charm that resembled the grim reaper.
