A tractor-trailer driver who struck a car on Interstate 81 in December, then stopped only briefly without contacting the car’s driver, was ordered Monday to serve the maximum of 12 months in jail. Family members of Muhammad Saleem Khan, from Gainesville, burst into tears as he was led off to jail to begin serving his sentence.
