The asset-light freight transportation and logistics provider Universal Truckload Services Inc. has reported second quarter net income of $13.3 million, down just slightly from $13.6 million a year earlier, partly due to a drop-off in energy and heavy haul operations. This translates into 44 cents per basic and diluted share compared to 45 cents in the second quarter of 2014, as revenue declined to $295 from $307.5 million for the Michigan-based company.
