Rising equipment costs and driver wages led to an increase in operational costs in 2014, according to a comprehensive report from the American Transportation Research Institute. ATRI’s report, An Analysis of the Operational Costs of Trucking, found that the average marginal cost per mile in 2014 was $1.70 compared with $1.68 in 2013.
