A Connecticut truck driver was cited after he slammed into the rear of a state police cruiser on the Mass Pike in Newton Friday night, injuring the trooper who was sitting inside. The trooper, identified only as a 44-year-old man working out of Troop E, was released from Massachusetts General Hospital yesterday after receiving treatment for his injuries overnight, state police spokesman David Procopio said.
