Hybrids can make sense
What’s your favorite car? For many that depends on numerous subjective factors, such as horsepower, top speed, luxury amenities and on and on. Even fuel economy is important to some of us.
Intellichoice, on the other hand, picks its best cars based upon best values, or total cost of ownership, such as the combined costs of depreciation, maintenance, repairs, fuel, fees, financing, and insurance.
And once again the Toyota Prius is a big winner.
According to Intellichoice, the Prius is the best value amongst all passenger cars, the only hybrid to make Intellichoice’s best value list. However, Toyota picked up 11 of the top 20 best values.
Hybrid cars don’t make sense?
Multiple times now Intellichoice, Consumer Reports and others have disagreed. Hybrids such as the Prius might not offer the greatest bling factor nor the fastest 0 – 60 speeds, but if you want a reliable, cost-effective car, the Prius proves that hybrids are about more than just some green statement.
