Ineos New Planet Energy

Back in January, Ineos Bio, along with joint venture partner New Planet Energy, received a conditional $75 million guaranteed loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) 9003 Biorefinery Assistance Program. Well, it didn’t take long for Ineos and NPE, under the JV name of Ineos New Planet BioEnergy, to put the funds to use, breaking ground on its $130-million BioEnergy Center outside of Vero Beach, FL.

Construction of the BioEnergy Center is apparently well underway and completion is set for mid-2012. Once operational, the BioEnergy Center will be capable of producing up to eight million gallons of biofuel annually and cranking out nearly six megawatts of electricity from biomass materials like yard, vegetative, wood and solid waste.
