DHL has joined the SmartWay Transport Partnership. The Partnership is a collaboration between the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the freight industry, designed to significantly reduce greenhouse gases and air pollution.

DHL Global Forwarding is the third business division of Deutsche Post DHL after Global Mail and Express that joins the EPA SmartWay Transport Partnership.

Launched in February 2004, the SmartWay Transport Partnership brings together major freight shippers, trucking companies, railroads, logistics companies and trade/professional associations to pursue mutually beneficial strategies that result in emissions reductions and other environmental improvements, as well as cost savings to the companies. The Partnership currently has more than 2,600 Partners.
