Full charges in just an hour
When it comes to transportation, I’m usually pretty fixated on functionality, and that’s why the new VW Bulli concept resonates. Six passenger seating in a small package always catches my attention, especially when the seats can fold flat for loads of cargo utility.
Oh yeah, and the fact you can plug-in the Bulli is pretty cool too.
According to VW the Bulli can achieve a top speed of almost 90 mph and go from 0 to 60 in a little over 9 seconds. More important, this plug-in electric car can achieve 186.4 miles of EV range and can be fully charged in just an hour.
186.4 miles of EV range and 60 minute charges? At what cost?
186 miles of range is considerably more than the Nissan Leaf, for instance. Is this a real world battery? A more expensive battery? Likewise, would 60 minute charges reduce the life of the battery pack? Is this all just concept hype?
Aside from an electric powertrain, the Bulli has also been conceptualized in a way that makes gasoline-powered versions also possible. Thus, it seems there is a good chance the Bulli will become a reality in some form. Hopefully, that includes a plug-in version, especially if the battery-powered numbers can live up to the hype.
