A judge’s ruling last week paved the way for a North Carolina truck driver to begin serving a monthlong sentence in the Trumbull County Jail this week. Richard Pacholski, 63, of Asheboro, N.C., was convicted last April of vehicular manslaughter in connection with the traffic death of 62-year-old Robert Lucarell, who died in July 2012 when Pacholski fell asleep driving a tractor trailer on Interstate 80. Pacholski’s truck crossed the median and struck the pickup truck being driven by Lucarell of Hubbard.
