Utah attorneys argued Monday over whether officers in Minnesota legally detained a Utah truck driver before his arrest, which led to charges of federal kidnapping and sexually assaulting two women whose teeth he also allegedly filed with a power tool. Timothy Jay Vafeades, 55, faces charges in U.S. District Court for Utah of kidnapping, transportation for illegal sexual activity and transportation and possession of child pornography.
