Congress changed the rules for “resetting” at the end of a truck driver’s week in a wide-ranging budget deal in December. Drivers have to take a 34-hour rest period after driving on seven or eight consecutive days, depending on the type of truck, said Michael Duenes, litigation council for the KCC’s transportation division.
