Charges are pending against the semi truck driver suspected of having a hand in multiple, widespread grass fires that ignited along North Dakota highways Wednesday afternoon, according to North Dakota Highway Patrol. A state Highway Patrol trooper pulled over the semi truck, whose load was smoking, around 1 p.m. Wednesday, according to a release issued by the Highway Patrol Friday evening.
