Lower Mainland truckers are once again threatening to go on strike after a portion of their members have already walked out on one employer – Port Transport – alleging their employers have refused to sit down to establish contracts. These contracts, said Gavin McGarrigle, Unifor B.C. area director, should have been in place shortly after April 2014, when different levels of government, the port and truckers signed a deal setting out new pay rates for container drivers.
