Connecticut’s Transportation Commissioner James P. Redeker told a legislative budget panel Friday that truckers could still park at the rest stops that are scheduled to be closed under the governor’s proposed budget. In an effort to reduce budget costs, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy wants to streamline the DOT’s rest area operations by closing some areas – including the stop on I-84 in Southington, and reducing hours at others around the state.
