DAYTONA BEACH – An Orlando man with two children fleeing police in a semi loaded with doors was injured after crashing into a ditch, but was too heavy to be taken by helicopter to the hospital, Daytona Beach police said. So, Matthew Berthel, 30, who weighed at least 400 pounds and had a broken ankle, got a ride to Halifax Health Medical Center in an EVAC ambulance and was admitted to the hospital Saturday afternoon, police said.
