Earnings for the trucking and logistics company Werner Enterprises Inc. took a bit of a dive in not just the final quarter of last year but for all of 2016 as it said it continued to make a significant investment in its business. Net income in the fourth quarter declined 40% from a year ago to $21.8 million with earnings per share of 30 cents compared to 51 cents.
