A. Yes, it is the fleet’s responsibility to ensure that the ELD devices on their trucks are registered. This includes checking if the device is either on the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s (FMCSA) registration and revocation list, which can be found here: https:/3pdp.fmcsa.dot.gov/ELD/ELDList.aspx.
In the event that an ELD’s status changes and it is removed from registration list, the FMCSA says it will make efforts to notify the public and affected users.
Fleets and drivers are encouraged to sign-up for ELD updates at https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USDOTFMCSA/subscriber/new?topic_id=USDOTFMCSA_112. Once they sign up, users will receive notifications about ELDs that have been added to the revocation list.
