Truck driver shot near Oakland Coliseum sues for negligence

A 73-year-old truck driver who was shot near the Oakland Coliseum while sleeping in his cab sued the stadium authority Thursday for negligence after he said security personnel wouldn’t let him spend the night inside the safety of the Coliseum parking lot. The lawsuit filed in Alameda County Superior Court, alleges that the trucker, Jerry Lloyd Matson of Indiana, had been accustomed to spending the night inside the Coliseum’s cordoned-off parking lot when he made regular deliveries to the sports complex.
